Default Broiler and self cleaning feature not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: jbp78w
Age: 5 - 10 years

Initially noticed that the self cleaning feature wouldn't work. The timer acted like it was working but oven would not heat up. Now have noticed the broiler will not heat. I checked continuity on the broiler according to a previous post and It tested ok. Any suggestions?

If you checked the broil element and got continuity, and the self clean does not work, that would be beacuse, when an oven goes into self clean, the broil comes on first. The model # you gave is not a full model #. Does the bake element work? I can be reached at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

The bake element seems to be working fine. The resistance on both the bake and broil element read the same with the wires unhooked on the back.

if the broil element is good, then you need to replace the clock control board. Tom
