Question Broiler element out
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KERH 507 YBL1
Age: More than 10 years

The inside (or broiler element) of this range wont come on. It is a "double" element. The outside ring of the element still comes on but not the inside ring. I was thinking about putting a new element in myself. (about $60). I've never worked on an electric range before.....Is it a difficult repair? Is there any way to confirm whether it is the element and not the current/voltage supplying the element? Any help is appreciated.

If you have a meter you can check the resistance of the element to see if it is good or bad.

Replacing the element is not hard.

Turn the power to the range off or unplug it.

Take the two screws out that hold the element in place.

Pull the element out and remove the wires from the ends of the element but make sure that you make which wires go to the inside element and which go to the outside element.

You may just have a wire burnt off.

Here is a link to your range model KERH 507 YBL1.
