Default Broiler element not heating
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FEF366ASD
Age: 1 - 4 years

We just purchased this stove used. Seller states it is about 2 years old. It appears in almost new condition. The stove top works great. The bottom element in the oven works fine also. But the broiler element does not come on and heat even though it appears that the control panel has been properly set in accordance with the owners manual instructions. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Disconnect the power from the stove and remove the broil element.
Check the element with a ohm meter to see if it's good.

If you do not have a ohm meter just take the element to any appliance repair shop and they can check it for you.

Some people think they should see the broil element come on during baking, but you will not see it come on when baking.

Make sure the oven is set to broil when looking at the element to see if it gets red hot.

I know you said it was set right, but just checking...

The oven was definitely on broil. Thank you for the advice on testing element. We will try that.
