Default Bake element for really old Hotpoint Wall Oven
Brand: Hotpoint
Age: More than 10 years

I need a replacement bake element for old Hotpoint wall oven. I can't find a name or number on it anywhere but it has a Hotpoint emblem like this (not my oven):
I'd guess it's from the 1960s.

If possible, I'd like to avoid pulling the oven out of the cabinet and continuing my model number search. The old element is 14" wide x 18" deep and the ceramic 3-blade plug looks exactly like this one . This element is too wide.

Does anyone know where I can get an element like this that is 14" wide by 18" deep or slightly smaller? Does the wattage vary significantly for elements that are physically the same size? The element is 1/4" in diameter, if that helps. Will any element that fits and has the proper plug work?

If you have an appliance parts store in your area that you can go in to with your element they should have a catalog of elements that are available.

Look in the yellow pages of your phone book.

With out your model number it is hard to help and with the age of the oven most places don't have information on them.

It's hard to read with the rust, but I found the part number on the element: WB44X142, which I don't think is made anymore. I found a NOS element that I may buy. Or I could buy an equivalent and change the connector.

You are right they have substituted the element to a new style.

You would have to change the connection on the oven.

Here is the element.
