Default Bake element failed; broil still working
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FEB30S5ABA
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a frigidaire single electric wall oven. The bake element stopped working but broil is working fine. I tested power to the bake element, and thermostat with a meter, and both had enough power. What is the next step to test or what areas could I look to for the possible problem.

Check the element for continuity.

You should get around 23 ohms.

What was the voltage at the element?

Here is a link to your oven model FEB30S5ABA.

It registered at 21.6 ohms. What should the temperature probe read at? If it is not the element nor temp. probe should I just replace the timer/clock/EOC/ Thanks for any help.

The element register at 21.6 ohms.
What is the temperature probe's ohms to read at for the same model.
Should I just replace the clock/timer/EOC?

If you have 220 volts at the bake element and it is not getting hot, then replace thr element

The temperature probe should be 1100 ohms at room temperature.

It is not likely the clock.

If it was the clock you would get a code in the display.

I replaced the bake element as suggested and still have no heat with that element. I still notice before and after the replacement that the broil element does get hot while on bake...Is that common. The temp. probe reads around 1106 ohms. I pulled the entire unit and shields and checked for burnt/damaged wires and found none. Could it be the selector switch--I see the red reset button and it doesn't appear to be working, or does it not even reset at all. That for any help.

The bake relay on the clock must be faulty.

In that case you will have to replace the clock.

Yes it is normal for the broil element to come on during the bake.
