I am trying to help an elderly couple with their oven problems. When you push the bake button on her oven the broil light turns on and the broiler. Anyone have an idea what would cause this? THANKS

many ranges uses both the bake and broil elements on preheating. so the broil coming on may be normal. but the bake not coming in is where i'd start looking for problems. element, thermostat, relay etc.

Thanks for your reply. The broil light and broiler is coming on when I push the bake button. The bake light doesnt come on just the broil.
