I have just been told that in the state of mass to rent an apartment i need to have an anti-tip device on the bottom of my stove. It will not allow the stove to tip should a child open the range door and ue the open door as a step and get up on it noone seems to know about this and i have never had to have one before where do i buy this? thanks

Many states require this now. You can probably find a unniversal kit at a hardware store...
