Default Amana Soothtop Cooktop possible fuse blown
Brand: Please select
Model Number: AK2H30HR
Age: More than 10 years

model: AK2H30HR / circa. 1990's

upon turning off a burner I heard a pop and saw a quick flash like a fuse blew right near the lower right burner control.

cooktop not working, no lights etc.

if i can do it myself i would like to. anyone know the board a bit and possible availability if it is a fuse. I search a technical guide for now...

thanks

There are no fuse in the cook top itself but what might have happen is a wire burnt of and then made contact with the base of the cook top.

This would have trip the circuit breaker in your house panel.

Here is a link to your cook top model AK2H30HR.

Called service but made the mistake of not checking the obvious first.

It did in fact trip the circuit breaker and the tech saw no evidence of burnt wires. I was a tad upset to shell out the $90 for next to nothing but the wife is happy so there you go.

I was in fact cooking something in grease but I did not see any near the controls.
