Default Amana Self-Cleaning Electric Range
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ARR6200W
Age: 5 - 10 years

The top unit in my oven, Broiling Element 3000 Watts Part Loc. #15 ( I believe this is the right one) does not come on. It takes longer to bake without it.
In order to replace this unit there is a silver plate and a single screw to hold it to the back of the oven. Could this be the problem why it doen't work and what is the correct way to replace it?

Thanks

It could be the element but find out for sure if the element is faulty check the element with an ohm meter.

You should get a reading of about 19 to 20 ohms.

The way to replace the element is to remove the screw and slowly pull the element out.

Make sure you unplug your range first.

You may have a wire of the element.

You will see this when you take the element out to check it.

Here is a link to your range model ARR6200W.
