Default 1 surface burner is not working/indicator light is always on
Brand: Roper
Age: 1 - 4 years

Problems:
1). 1 of the surface burner is not working (other 3 works fine)
2). The surface heating indicator light is always on, despite all the switch is on the off position. I have to turn off circuit breaker every time I finish using the stove.

Problem caused by:
One of terminal block got burned out, the surface burner was still working until the attach between the terminal block became very loose. I tried to pull out the surface burner from the terminal block with out unplugging the stove (I promise I won't did it again), I saw sparkling fire right after the surface burner de-attached from the block. since then, the indicator light keeps on all the time.

I've replaced the terminal block and the surface burner, but it still won't work and the surface heating indicator is always on.

Thanks for your help in advance.

It sounds like you have shorted the control for the burner.

With your model number I can provide you with a exploded view of your range.
