Default Spacemaker Fan Won't Stop After Power Surge
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JVM2050-CH3
Age: 1 - 4 years

A lightning storm blew the braker on the powerpole outside our home. After being replaced by the power company and power being turned back on the microwave was running. It is coming from the top of the unit. I pulled the control panel and saw there is a fan there but this is not where the noise is coming from. The only way I can stop it is to unplug the unit.
I tried all 3 speeds from the vent fan button but no change. There is a change in the sound when I push the Vent Fan Boost button.
I understand there is an automatic fan that turns on when it senses too much heat. Could the power surge have damaged it?
I would be happy to pull the wire if possible since we use it very little.
The unit was heat as it dod before.

Any information would really be appreciated.
