Default No power up
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JVM1650
Age: 1 - 4 years

My GE microwave will no longer turn on or display anything. Positively plugged into working 110 outlet. Opened unit up and checked fuse(good).
The last time I used it it shut off and I had to enter the time etc. for it to work again. Worked for another 10 seconds and shut off again. Reentered time etc again and got it working again. Aagain it shut down and this time I saw a bunch of ************ on the keypad and then it shut down for good. I can't get anything on the touch panel.
I'm thinking it is the smartboard. Is there any other testing I can do before I order this $88 part?
Thanks

Check to make sure that there is power to the board.

If there is power going to the board then the board will have to be replaced.

Here is a link to your microwave model JVM1650.

There is a fuse in the microwave that may have opened.

The fuse is number 47 on the breakdown.

On mine there was a trouble shooting guide when I took the cover off. There are three switches on the door, Primary (top), Monitor (middle) and Door Sensor (bottom). The primary and door switches should ohm out open with the door open and show a complete circuit with the door closed. The monitor switch is opposite. Granted this is on my GE Sensor which is a slightly different model number. There is also a low voltage relay that powers the PCB which (on mine) calls for 18V, 7V and 2.7V. You can verify the PCB has power. There are also two thermal cut out sensors on mine that could have failed as well. Let me know if you would like me to scan the manual and email it to you. It would be to large to attach here.
