Default No heat, everything else normal
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: gmc305pdt6
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,

I have a whirlpool microwave/oven combo unit. I was heating a few things last night and suddenly one of the dish came out still cold. There's no other abnormal things except that the microwave was quieter than usual when running.

I have partially disassembled the unit and identified where the fuses, high voltage capacitor, magnetron and etc are. I need advise on where to start to do the troubleshoot.

Thanks very much
Hong

Default No heat

I have just had the same problem with my Panasonic Convection combo .
Try it in the microwave mode only ,to see if the microwave is OK .

Naturaly , if there is AC voltage at the heater terminals in the convection mode and still no heat then the heater coil will need to be replaced .

If there is no voltage at the heater terminals with power ON and in convection mode , then put a meter across the heater coil ( POWER OFF ! ) to see if the coil is OPEN . If it is not OPEN then follow the heater wires to the heater relay . If the heater relay has no power at it's coil terminals when POWER ON and in the convection mode , then there is a sensor problem or controll board fault .
