 Microwave Stopped working Brand: Jenn-Air Model Number: JMC7000ADB Age: 5 - 10 years
This microwave is part of an oven combo unit. It is 6 years old. A little over a year ago we began to have problems with a breaker located on the top of the oven unit. It only controlled the power through the oven to the microwave. It would trip regularly and we have the service guy come by and attempt to repair it several times. He finally pointed out to us that we could bypass that breaker by simply plugging in the microwave (it had an existing cord)!  The microwave has worked fine until recently when it completely failed for no reason. The oven unit still works.
My question is, can the two units be separated? My thought process now is that I will no longer use a combo unit but will have my cabinets modified so that a standard microwave unit can be used with a standard built in oven unit. However, if I do not have to buy a new oven unit, I would be ahead several hundred dollars. Does anyone know if these two units can be separated? |
