Default Microwave shut down while oven on self clean
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JMC8130DDS
Age: 1 - 4 years

We have a built in microwave and oven combo. I was popping some popcorn while the oven wa on self clean and the microwave completely shut down in the middle of the popcorn cooking. We checked the circuit breaker with no luck. The microwave is completely shut down but the oven is working fine. I am guessing it is the microwave fuse since there is no power. Problem is that we cannot figure out how to access the fuse. Other websites have mentioned removing the control panel but we cannot figure out how to do that. Any suggestions? Repair would be $300! Other sites have said that it is an easy repair and that fuses are around $3.00. Help!! Cannot afford to replace or fix at that price and since it is a built in we have few options...

To service the microwave the unit has to come out of the wall.

Disconnect the power to the oven.

Open the oven door and the microwave door and remove the screws securing the unit to the cabinet opening.

You will need two people to do this.

Pull the unit forward out of the cabinet opening.

Disconnect or unplug the power cord leaking from the unit to the fuse box or junction box depending on the hook up in your home.

Remove the screws securing the top wrapper to the chassis and remove the top cover.

You will then have access to the microwave fuse.

Make sure that you put something down on your floor so you don't damage the floor.

Here is a link to your oven model JMC8130DDS.
