Microwave made a popping noise after I entered the time of cooking and pushed start. Nosie sounded like a light bulb that shot. Microwave runs but just will not heat the food.

It could be the magnetron or the transformer that has failed.

If your microwave is under five years old the magnetron is likely still under warranty, you should check in your owners manual.

If it is you should take it in for service.
