Thank you for you input!

We had a technician---actually two out (one obviously didn't want to deal with hauling the thing down and recommended another)

The both agree it is the PCB board--the first thought it was a latch as well, but they checked out fine

Supposedly....

CORRECTION: If your model number starts with 721.######## then it was made by LG and code F9 means a problem with the door switches or door alignment, NOT the control unit. Sorry I didn't look closer at this!!

Please let me know your full model number ( ###.####### ) and I'll double check but take a look here if it is 721.########

One key is to run it, then hold up a bit gently on the door while it's running to see if it makes it through the cook cycle.

If it fails, try it while gently pushing down on the door.

Default Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. My Kenmore Elite 721.63683300 just started doing this. Is this just a door latch or the board? Thanks.

I would suggest you check out this information on door switches:

If the door switches and mounts are okay, then the problem would be on the control board, and we can take care of that for you.
