My microwave starts to run then after 2 seconds turns off and says I need to set the clock. I set the clock and start to run the microwave again and it turns off and the time changes to 7:20 p.m.. The microwave will not run and keeps shutting off and again tells me to set the clock. It does this a couple times a day, other times it works fine. This is a very frustrating problem because you never know when it is going to work. Also, the night light doesn't work. It doesn't dim, it just stays bright.

Needs new magnetron tube. on some of these models the magnetron tube was leaking a frequency and messing up the control board. runs for 2 to 10sec. shuts completely off and says reset clock. seen many do this. call for service.

It seems like a lot of these JVM2070's are defective. On my street in ATL all of the houses have these GE Profile Spacemaker's and most have had to be replaced. First, the turntable goes. Then, the screen flashes as it runs. Then it cuts off in the middle of a cook cycle. Then you couldn't touch the settings. Then it just died.

So are they replacing these free of charge? Message below says it's the magnetron, which has a 5 yr. warranty.
