Thumbs down Microwave control panel problem
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: MC1002WB
Age: 1 - 4 years

This unit has been used very little. The control panel will not take inputs consistently. Sometimes it will only show "88888s" when you plug it up and will not accept any inputs. Other times you can plug it up and it will let you set the clock but that is all. On occasion, it will let you set the clock and actually use the microwave. If you finally get it to run once, it will more than likely not work the second time you try. It appears to be something in the control panel. Is this a replaceable part? It appears to have three easily removeable wiring connections.

This unit is manufactured by Samsung for Walmart.

I don't have any information on this microwave.

If it is a lower end unit the parts, if available, would likely be more than replacing the unit.

Can you please verify your model number?

Make sure to include dashes and spaces.

It is likely in the control board.

Microwave is model number MC1002WB made by Samsung for Walmart. I
understand that the part may be more expensive than the whole unit new,
I believe it was less than $100 new in 2003. What a shame that one part
makes the whole unit junk for the landfill. Is there a recycle option
to send something like this to?

Yes it is kind of sad that this unit land in a landfill.

Check with Walmart to see who the local parts and service supplier is for this microwave.

It also may be in the owners manual.
