Brand: General Electric
Model Number: sca1000hss
Age: 1 - 4 years
vent fan will not start when you press button(humming noise but no fan). However when cooking on the range below the microhood, the vent fan comes on automatically when range gets hot.

It sounds like the electronic board is not suppling the proper voltage to the fan motor causing it to hum.
