 Micro/Convection doesn't RUN Brand: Kenmore Model Number: 721.8997190 Age: More than 10 years
Hello all, after buying unit in May 1995 I began using. Never had any problem until last weekend. When I pressed the Convection Button, then the Start Button; intead of beginning the pre-heat to 350 cycle, I heard a thumping click, then silence. The timer works as all other buttons do. When I Press Micro time, enter amount of time, the press Start button, the Timer begins counting down; but no heat comes out. I still use the timer. All interior lights come on. I need help. I had called for a Sears service call. Today a serviceman called and said it was the control panel and $500.00 was the repair cost. How could he perform a diagnostic check over the phone? Especially without the model number or any nomenclature I figured as it was 85 degrees, he just didn't want to be bothered. Please help me |
