Default Melted Door
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KCMS145JSS-1
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have noticed that the plastic molding is melting along the side of the door where the hinge is. It is where the door comes in contact with the main unit of the microwave. There are also some scorch marks on the metal part of the door and the main part of the microwave where the door comes in contact with the microwave. The door replacement seems easy enough, but are there any other things I should be concernced about, like why this happened in the first place, and will it happen to the new door? Are there any other concerns I should have?

Thanks
TJ

With the bad door you may have had a bad RF seal allowing radiation to escape!
Look carefully, you may not be able to replace the door. Also, check partselect, your door may not be available or too expensive.
