Model Number: MW8991SB
Age: 1 - 4 years

I was cooking potatoes when it just quit cooking. The lights are all on the buttons go on just no cooking! It did feel awfully hot though. I tried plugging it in hours later still the same thing. Please help!

It is possible that it could be the fire sensor that opened.

Can you please check your model number?

The model is MW8991SB it is an Emerson. How would I fix a fire sensor? Thanks for your time.

The sensor will have to be replaced.

Emerson may not call it a fire sensor they may call it a limiter.

I can not locate your model in our database.

I believe that Emerson is made by General Electric.
