I have a Whirlpool Gold, which I think is identical to the Kitchenaid design, and my builtin Microwave is also showing a"door"error code with less than 50cycles/uses. I was cooking popcorn with the popcorn cycle and when complete I thought I should cook it for another 30 sec. I initiated the microwave but before it began the cycle I opened the door to double check the bag to see if a lot of kernals were still unpopped. This interrupted the 30sec cycle at the very start and the error code of Door has showed up ever since. Powering down at the breaker makes no difference. I can't believe that a door latch failure has occured and hope there is some sort of reset feature via the keypad or on the control board.

Any ideas?
Very disappointed Whirlpool owner, paid top dollar for these appliances and all three has had what I consider premature failures. See my Ice dispenser post.

The Microwave is part of a Whirlpool Gold built in oven/micro combo unit Model No. GMC275PRB01.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well once again the internet has been a wealth of information. Seems many Whirpool owners of oven/microwave combos are having the same "Door" error code. Unfortunately it wasn't door switches it was a failing control board which based on the many internet sites I've visted occurs a lot, but after 50 uses and out of warrantly, that's sad. OUCHIMAMA it was an expensive fix.
