Hole in inside door lining due to arching Brand: General Electric Model Number: jvm150001 Age: More than 10 years The door on this GE microwave consists of an outside plastic and an inside plastic with the perforated metal grill behind it. During use and inadvertently, a piece of aluminum wrapping arched on the inside and produced a small hole on the inside plastic. There is no damage to the metal reflective grill and no damage to the outside plastic on the door. The only damage is a small hole on the inside plastic. Is it safe to use the appliance as such? Can the inside hole be repaired with any type of sealant? GE recommends not using it and they do not have replacement parts because of the age. A reputable local repair person says it is no problem to use as such since the reflective metal screen was not affected. I was hoping for some additional input/advice. Thanks. |
