Default GE MW Shuts off on popcorn setting

I am having the same problem. My problem started with popcorn and now the unit shuts down on any item that is relatively small (coffee, individual serving reheats, etc.)

Elevating an item I want heated on a coffee cup full of water works. This makes me think that a sensor is out.

The GE unit is only two years old. Any suggestions?

There are two sensors in the microwave.

You will have to check them with a meter to see if they open with the heat.

Here is a link to your microwave model JVM1650WH01.

The sensors are number 61 and 62 on the breakdown.

I am having the same problem with the same model #. Called GE and they were no help. Told me to call repair. My microwave is 2 1/2 years old. I keep getting 8888888. I have followed all the instructions, hit clear, reset the clock, date, etc. have even tried time cook...to no avail. This has been going on for over a month. We even added a new outlet for it..it worked for the weekend and poof.

I think with all the complaints on this board..it's time for GE to issue a recall or look into it. HELP. This means I will be without mine for Thanksgiving.
