Default F3 code,control lock
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: spacemaker xl 1800
Age: 1 - 4 years

The F3 Code, beeping sounds and control locked code come up on the microwave. Is there a way to clear it. This is the second problem we have had with this appliance. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

F3 on a GE is a shorted keypad. See my user name if you'd like to have a pro to fix it reasonably for you.

Or if you or a friend want to take care of it, you can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: Appliance Parts From PartSelect | Repair Parts For Major Appliances.
There should also be a very helpful "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel. It's very helpful when troubleshooting.

Getting this fixed is economical unless you have a big brick & mortar company send a tech to the home. No offense to them but that's just the way it is.
