Default Exhaust Fan Not Operational
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: PLMV169
Age: 1 - 4 years

My microwave exhaust fan does not start. I have verified the fan is good. Is there a relay that operates the High/Low speeds or is there a different cause. When pressing the High/Low button all that happens is a click and humm.

Check for voltage at the motor, if none, you have a bad pc board. If voltage you may have a jammed fan blade.

Thanks, The fan is fine. There is voltage to the fan, just not enough to get it going. If I turn it by hand the fan will operate correctly. Once it is off, the same problem occurs. I just wanted to be sure it was not one of the relays before I went through the expense of purchasing an entire board.
