Default Cooking getting sloooow
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: MH6150xhq
Age: 5 - 10 years

Just this week my microwave has started to take its time cooking things. Things that would cook in 1 minute now take 2 or more minutes. The functions all seem to work ok. Table turns, lights, buttons, power settings... all function. Sounds the same as it always has but it has gotten "weaker".

Whirlpool site not much help--indicated possible moisture on circuits but we have had driest/lowest humidity here & I have not been cooking anything in the regular oven or cooktop below for quite some time so...

I am quite handy and not afraid to try to fix but not quite sure where to start & if I should. Is it just time to replace it?

Default

It is usually the transformer or the magnetron.

Here is a link to your microwave model MH6150xhq.

Microwave repairs should be done by a technician so a leak test can be done when the repair is complete.

Also there is a high voltage circuit in the microwave that could be very dangerous to a untrained servicer.
