I am having trouble with my very old- about 25 years- Kitchen Aid Trash compactor . I turned the key to get it running, and then after a few seconds it made a pop noise (which sounded like the bins inside clunking around, then began a humming niose which never stopped until I turn it off. I have tried running it again and no luck! If something is jammed inside , perhaps the bins inside, how do I unjamm it? Please help!

25 years old? Life expectancy of anything is 10 years best, trying to get just one more days use out of it for some reason? I'd need a model number to look up a parts break down to see it, but most of these this old when majorly jambed you pull them out from under the counter, take the case off and have to manually unscrew the drive mechanism in the bottom of it.
