Default Sunbeam water cooler - no hot water

Hello.

I have a Sunbeam water cooler that is approximately one year old. Not sure what model number, but it has a stainless steel front, holds 5 gallon bottles and produces either hot or cold water. All of a sudden it stopped heating the water. It worked fine just last night, but not this morning. I unplugged it and let it sit for a while thinking that perhaps the thermostat needed resetting. That didn't do anything. And yes I made sure the power switches on the back (one for cold, one for hot) are set to the On position.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I would guess that your thermal fuse blew.
Could be that the thermostat did not open and blew the fuse
Could also be the heater burned out

All the above 3 can be checked with a ohm meter. If the thermal fuse is blown and the heater measures OK I would get a new thermostat even if it measured good

I am afraid most of the time these are fix it by replacing the whole unit
Having a tech open it up, troubleshoot it and replace parts would likely cost more than a new unit.
Perhaps it is still under warranty

Do a search of this site using "sunbeam" I do remember a post where a person had a company that would supply parts. I think it was the water valve handles but they may also supply other parts.

You may be able to get the thermostat and fuse from a small appliance repair shop just make sure you have the parts with you so you can compare them to what you receive.
