Default Need dehumidifier help!

I have a Whirlpool Gold dehumidifier, serial AD40DSL1. This item was left in my home when I purchased it a couple months ago. It runs well, compressor seems to be working fine but no moisture is being collected in the tub. My basement definitely needs this appliance because of the dampness and musty smell from an older home. Any suggestions from a repair person???? Please help!
