Default LG Parts Availability

I had a problem with an LG appliance (laundry dryer) and got the runaround on diagrams and parts availability at first - "Service manuals and internal components are only available for sale to authorized service centers or those companies licensed for electronics/appliance repair." I discovered that many other people experienced the same kind of issue. Postings I read on several appliance and repair forums suggested that LG absolutely refused to make parts and manuals available to customers.

I bitched to the point that my complaints went up the corporate ladder. I subsequently got phone calls from two LG VP's, one in parts supply and one in customer service. Though the customer service people and local service center were reluctant to give me the same information, for future reference both andrewselectronics.com and partstore.com sell diagrams and parts for LG products.
