Question Kitchenaid stand mixer repair

I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer model number KG25H7X. It is a little over 1 year old and stopped working. We looked inside and found that the gear housing was cracked and the worm gear was stripped. I have ordered and received the housing and worm gear. I did not purchase the gear grease because I figured I could purchase gear grease locally. Does anyone know what type of store I should go to and what I need to ask for so that I get the type of grease appropriate for the stand mixer? Also, if you have replaced gears in a mixer, any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

07/21/07--I decided to use the existing grease in the gear assembly. I used the mixer to make some bread dough today and it seems to be working fine now. Hopefully it will continue to work.

Is your mixer still working ok? I have always liked Kitchen Aid.

I 've heard that this brand is much better than others. So I just bought a new Kitchenaid stand mixer.
At first they placed a larger dough hook in my package and the coating wore off. I called them they replaced it with a right one (smaller). (BTW, they were not as nice as you expect on the phone.)
Now I am a littler bit worried about the quality of their product. Until now I 've used the mixer three times to make some yeast dough. I start to see a small spot on the dough hook where the coating seems gone.
I feell frustrated. Do I call them again or just return it?
So I just want to ask those of you who have been using this product a question:
Is it reliable? How long do you start to get all kinds of problems?
I appreciate any suggestion.

Default Gear Box

I have only been able to find two places who carry the metal gear housing, however, they are both backordered for months. Where did you find yours? Glad it is working for you. I have been without since Feb.
