Unhappy KitchenAid Professional 6 stops after 30 sec

My KitchenAid Professional 6 mixer will not stay on longer than 30 sec. When I turn it on it stays on for about 30 sec. and then stops. If I let it stop on its own and then I turn it off, it will not come back on unless I let it sit for a minute. If I turn it off at 25 sec. I can turn it right back on. When I do turn the mixer on the stir or lowest setting it speeds up to the highest level sending ingredients everywhere. Can someone tell me which part to replace and or what to do. I bake a lot and this has really slowed me down in a frustrating manner Thanks

These have a control board inside of them that regulates the motor speed. We have shelves full of these in our shop that are brought in for repair, I mean rows and rows of them. I don't know if that means there are constant problems with them or there are just so many of them out there that the many we see are only a small drop in the bucket of whats actually out there. Your best bet is to probably take it into your local authorized service center and just have them go over the entire thing. It sounds like the control board is bad, but its possible the motor is bad and damaging the control board. This could be hard for you to confirm and just putting a new control board in it to have it damaged again could get very expensive for you fast.
