Default I need some detective work

This is going to be a different kind of question.

I live in an apt. and have suffered a carbon monoxide poisoning from my furnace. The apt. managers have pulled several ruses trying to destroy my case for damages. The furnace was a GE furnace, about 40 years old. They disassembled the furnace, somewhere out of my sight, after removing it. I asked to see the heat exchanger. They brought it to the back door of the building, and I took pictures of it. There were no holes in it. I was just looking at my photographs, and I noticed that this ancient heat exchanger has a GE bill of sale attached to it.

There is a black strip at the top, and a black strip at the bottom, of the bill. In the black strip at the top, I can make out, "General Electric Gas Fired Warm Air Furnace." Does anyone know if that would likely be the original bill of sale, or might it be a bill that was attached to a recently purchased part. They have pulled several deceits on me, so I am suspicious. Especially since the furnace was tested (by an outside company) and was definitely leaking carbon monoxide but no cause was found (by them). And why would the old bill of sale be attached to the heat exchanger?

Thanks for your help.

Do you feel like a bigger man having passed judgment? Do you prowl the Internet looking for your daily fix?

My doctor sees damage, I have been disabled, and I am unable to work.

If you have nothing but meanness to offer, you should try really hard to keep it to yourself.

40 year old heat exchanger ? I've been doing a/c and heating for over 27 years now and I have never seen a bill of sales on any heat exchanger I've ever pulled out of a furnace. I can not believe Ge would attach a bill of sales inside anything that would retain heat that might catch fire. The heat exchanger in that vintage heats up to 140 degrees before the fan cycling switch brings on the fan, it would have burned off or you be unledgable after all that heat, and years. Besides the bill of sales or tag would be on the outside of the completed unit, or every single part would have its own tag of sale,, gas valve, fan, burner assembly. Heat exchangers can have a crack that you may not be able to see, until heat is applied, and sometimes not even then. One way to tell is when the heater reachs temp and the fan comes on the flames on the burners will lift off of the burner assembly and the flames will shoot up to twice there normal hight. Meaning a rupture somewhere in the combustion chamber... Hope this helps if I can help give a yell.
