Default Help with garage door opener

I have a craftsman garage door opener, it will not go down using the remote, if I push the button in the garage and hold on to it the door will go down, I have adjusted the torque down as far as it will go, any help out there would be highly apprecitated.

When you say "hold on to it" I assume you mean the door?
If not the door could be you just need new remote batteries.

If you have had a cold spell lately could be the grease

Sounds more like a door issue than a opener problem

No its the switch inside of the garage, that open and closes the door. it does not make sense why I have to hold the button down on the inside to get the door down, could it be the torque switch inside of the motor.

It does not make sense to me that the torque would cause this
I think it would come into play whether you use the button or the remote
I did some searching and it seems that most of the time this type of problem is caused by the door sensors. This does make sense because I think they are overridden when you hold the manual button on.

Here is a link to a forum just on garage doors, hopefully it will help
