Default GE temperature control probe

I bought an old GE electric skillet that is 1150 watts. It is in new condition as is the temperature control probe that came with it but the probe is marked 1650 watts. Can I safely use the control probe with the skillet? Thank you

I've got an old one I got as a wedding gift 35 years ago and the skillet and probe are different just like yours. We've been using it off and on with no problem.

I'm so glad to hear that the difference in watts doesn't present a safety problem. After reading your post, I feel much better about using my skillet. I really appreciate such a quick reply. Thanks!
