Default Deep freeze keys?

No, I'm not writing appliance industry poetry (but maybe I should, eh?) I am asking an obscure question...

The secondhand enthusiast here would like to know if it's possible to get replacement keys for someone else's old locking deep freeze, bought for 25 bucks from an online classified. It works great. It often has ice cream in it. My BF loves ice cream and needs to lose 50 lbs.

Keys to the freezer, proffered for occasional treats, would make his willpower a little stronger. Heh.

So. How do I replace that key?

Thanks!

lol

Don't know much about freezers but I love ice cream too. If you can't replace the lock/keys to your freezer, can a chain and a sturdy padlock help? Hide the crowbar to be sure...

LOL, wingnut. A chain and sturdy padlock might help; but then it'd be doubly hard for me to get to the frozen vegetables. And I WANT him to eat those!!

For anyone who might have the clue to the key dilemma, here, and might find the info useful: My deep freeze is a "White King" from BF Goodrich.

Well that is a funny reason for a key - LOL -

All kidding aside, I keep mine locked so the little grand children don't decide to jump in. They are at the climbing stage.

I know mine is really new - just got it before Christmas - but the manual says you can contact a dealer and they can put in an order for extra keys. I wonder if you email the owners of this board if they can let you know the availability and price.

Hey Sinamin, if you're a guy I like you, if a gal, I like you even better. You seem to have a manual for everything. I seldom read manuals and most that came with our appliances were already lost. But I'm taking a lesson from you and keep any appliance manual that comes my way. You've proven that they can be useful.

Thx for the compliment wingnut. I am one of these people who needs to read everything. If I must fiddle with something, I have to go step by step. I still have every manual from every appliance, computer hardware, shelving, you name it.

And it really bugs me when I go to my mother's and she says "can I help her" and the first thing I say "where's the book" then she goes " I don't know"

Then I stand there thinking "am I a magician or something".........LOL

I have two thoughts on this. The first is to contact the company and see if you can get new keys from them. The second is to have a locksmith change out the locks.

all locks if they are unlocked and sometimes lock can be removed and or replaced ..
depeneding on how it is installed in which most small locks have a c clip on the back side of them that hold them in place.. if you remove the c clip the whole lock can be pulled out go to home depot and buy the sam type as the are cheaper then the lock smith allso as a last result for about 20.00 a lock smith will come to your house and make a key for you as that is what i paid to have them open a slot machine for me..
