Default 36" GE Profile Downdraft

I purchased a new 36" GE Profile Downdraft, the controller board was blown, and I replaced with a genuine part. The unit now drives the hood down, upon power up. The hood registration is wrong, when I release the motor, and manually raise the hood, it is only half way up. How do I reset/reallign the motor so as the hood is at the fully exteneded position to start at power on.

I don't have the service manual on this unit so I will only be making suggestion on what may work.

Disconnect the motor and watch the direction of the motor when you power the unit up.

Manually raise the assembly to the highest position reconnect and try.

Here is a link to your range hood model JVB67HSS.
