It is not difficult. Make sure you shut off the power to your unit from the switch panel. Disconnect the hoses to your garbage disposal, use the tool that came with your new unit and turn the old one counter clockwise. make sure you support it with one hand when you turn otherwise it will fall. After you have it down, disconnect the three wires. Connect the three wires to the new one, exactly the same way.(black to black and whit to white) and the green to ground.
Connect the L shape drain out pipe to your new unit and and lift it to line up with the coupling under the sink and turn clockwise. You may have to push up hard to get the locking mechanism to engage. Use the tool to tighten to the maximum.

That doesn't sound as difficult as I would have thought it would be. In fact, it almost sounds easy, easier than hanging a ceiling fan. LOL

That’s a great link and would be very helpful. I admit that I don’t do things like that. I call a guy (in this case my brother) and he does those things for me.

Not many people have that kind of luck. Either you pay more than what is worth to a sucker from your hard earned money or learn to do it yourself.

I've done this - it's really pretty easy, as long as you're replacing an existing disposal, not installing one for the first time.

BWEE,
Oh, I know. I am very lucky along those lines. The problem is that he's busy and I am not patient. SO I want to try to do some of the things myself.
