Dryer usually won't start or buzzes when start button is held. May start and run for a short while. Removed top-backplate, pretty big 'arc' on switch when start button is released so don't know if that is good or bad. Door switch seems to be ok. Ideas?

It sounds like the motor is seizing up or has a dead spot.

Remove the front panel of the dryer and take the belt off the pulley.

Turn the shaft by hand and see if it turns freely.

The motor will likely have to be replaced.
