Default A wiring quandry.
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KGYS750GQ1
Age: 5 - 10 years

This one is my own fault, and I'm sorry to take up space and your time with it.

I had our dryer apart to test some stuff and, to get at the ignitor more easily, I disconnected the blue and white wires from the dryer sensor. Before I did that, I told myself which wire went to what terminal, but in the meantime I've managed to convince myself that I'm not sure anymore. Duh. Can anybody tell me which wire connects to the terminal that's closest to the combustion chamber, flame shroud, or whatever it's called on a gas dryer? Given that, I'm betting that I'll be able to figure out where the other one goes. Duh, again.

Thank you for your time and help!

Mark

P.S. -- What IS the actual purpose of the dryer sensor? I think I remember hearing somebody call it a "flame sensor" once, which would make sense, considering where it's mounted, but what does it actually do?

Is this the sensor that you are asking about?

If it is it does not matter which wirer you put on either terminal.

It will work either way.

The flame sensor cuts the power to the gas valve if there is no flame to shut off the gas.

Here is a link to your dryer model KGYS750GQ1.
