Ok dryer stopped in the middle of drying and now will not restart u can here the ticker ticking but when u push the button it will not start. The belt is fine and when u hold the door switch still the same thing we thought it mit not close tight do we help the door button down and still nothing there is power the the outlet so not sure what to do next can afford to get someone to do it for us so the hubby is going to try to fix it so I thought I would see if anyone here could help. I heard something about the thermal fuse and the heating element but not sure. What does the thermal fuse have to do with the dryer not starting I now there is safety on the heating element but not sure about the thermal fuse.

Bypass the thermal fuse(stick the two wires together and turn on the dryer(dont hold the wire and keep them away from other metal)
Make sure you are bypassing the thermal fuse-identify it by your wiring diagram.
