Unhappy Whirlpool locking up then won't start
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: 27" Extra Capacity
Age: More than 10 years

About a week or so ago, my Whirlpool elec. dryer started making a high pitched noise then it stoped working. Thinking my belt was slipping I got a kit from Sears and replaced the idler pulley, belt, and idler wheels. It started again and ran for about five minutes longer then it shut down. When I pushed the button to start it, the motor hummed loudly but it didn't start. If it stays true to form, after awhile it will start again noisily, run for about 5-7 minutes and STOP with a WWWWHHHOMP sound. Any ideas?
