Default Whirlpool LER7646EQ Not Hot
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LER7646EQ2
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool dryer Model LER7646EQ2. About 4 months ago, it stopped working. I found a crack in the element that shorted to ground and blew fuse. I replaced both and it worked great. Now it runs, but no heat at all.
I have checked continuity on the following:
Element = Good
Thermostat on the element(250 f) = Good
Thermal Fuse = Good
Thermal Cut-Off High Limit Ther. = Good
Thermostat Internal Bias = Good
I have replaced the door switch.(15.00 just to see)

I am getting 120 volts at the element on each side in reference to ground. It should be 240 Correct?
My guess is the switch on the motor for the element or the timer.
Help. What next? Wife is ready to by new dryer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you should have 240 volts.

Have you check the temperature switch?

It could be the motor switch or the timer.

Here is a link to your dryer model LER7646EQ2.

By Temp switch do you mean the selector switch. If so, no.
How? Is this a continuity test as well.

Yes the selector switch.

Make sure someone has not set it to air or fluff and then do the continuity test.

Can you give details on how to check continuity on this switch. Which terminals should have and which not? Thanks

Sorry I don't have your wiring diagram.

If you follow the wiring diagram it will show you which terminals.
