Question Whirlpool GAS dryer prob
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LGN2000LW0
Age: 1 - 4 years

This problem just started occuring. My dryer will only stay running when the start button is pressed. As soon as you let go of the button the dryer stops. I was just wondering what I might do to fix this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Brett

Might be a burnt out run winding in the motor or a bad centrifical switch

Thanks for your reply. In other words, I need a service technician to check it out.

You can confirm motor problem by putting 115 volts to pins 4& 5 of the motor. If motor runs your problems are in other places.
