Default Whirlpool Electric dryer only has hi heat
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: le5800xsw3
Age: More than 10 years

Dryer only has hi heat. Checked vent/exhaust system and it's clear. When on Timed Cycle the 'infinite temperature selector' knob will not lower the temp. Checked continuity of 'infinite temperature selector' rheostat and appears to be ok. Checked continuity on operating and hi-limit thermostats and both have continuity.
I think it's the operation thermostat.
thank you,
Bill

Bill, this is an older dryer. I would replace both the high limit, and the operating thermostat. If money is an issue, I would replace the operating thermostat. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
