Default Whirlpool Duet Dryer
Brand: Please select
Age: Please select

When I try to start the dryer it goes right to sensing and stays there. I tried unplugging the machine for a while, thinking it would reset, but it did not. What do I do?

What do you mean?

Does the dryer run for a short time and then shut off?

How old is the dryer?

Can you please supply your model number?

Is there a code in the display?

The Sensing light is suppose to glow until a wet item is detected. If a wet item is not detected in ten minutes the dryer will shut down.

The dryer does nothing but show the sensing light.
The dryer does not do anything but the above.
The model # is GEW9250PWG
There is no code in the display.
I tried loading the dryer with the laundry from the duet washer, just like always, but nothing.

Check the thermal fuse that is on the blower housing.

If the thermal fuse is open check the venting to see it there is something restricting the air flow.

Here is a link to your dryer model GEW9250PW0.

Here is the thermal fuse.

I cleaned out the whole area inside the dryer, the fuse looks like it is open.
I do not see anything blocking anywhere inside. What next?

Make sure that you check the vent that the dryer is hook to.

The fuse usually opens when there is an air flow restriction or the dryer over heats.

Replace the fuse and see if it is over heating.
