Default Whirlpool dryer wont shut off
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ler4634eq2
Age: 1 - 4 years

whirlpool model #LER4634EQ2. the dryer goes to cool down but then hangs up there and will not shut off unless you do it manually. It has a new timer on it and that was not the problem. Could it be thermostat bias-heater or power resister for the dryer timer? The dryer is drying clothes ok and the timer moves fine until it gets to the shut off and sticks at cool down. It just will not stop. Any help out there?

What setting are you using?

Try using a different cycle to see if dryer will shut off.

Unfortunately I do not have your wiring diagram to see where the resistor fit in.
